About
Matilda, Mattie, was born in London but her youth was spent moving from country to country, continent to continent, and adventuring the world.
Inheriting her parent's adventurous spirit, exploring become her lifestyle, spending most of her adult life moving and travelling around, with a big chunk spent in Barcelona, Spain. Therefore, it’s no surprise her art is characterised by bright tropical colours and themes, inspired by her youth growing up in Costa Rica and her travels. Nowadays, Mattie is based in creative Folkestone, Kent.
Further, her abstract paintings are more inspired by feelings and emotions. They also tend to play with the idea of distorted or blurry visions, expressing (literally and metaphorically) her vision as a sight-impaired artist.
You might find Mattie Art out on the streets painting murals or street art, in a studio working on new paintings, or blogging about food and travels. But one thing is for sure, her goal is to never stop creating and expressing herself, and hopefully inspire you to do it too.
